Dr. Ge has been my acupuncturist for over 10 years. His knowledge and practice have significantly improved the quality of my life.
Living in Champaign and working a high-stress job creates havoc on my mind and body. Over time I have developed various chronic issues that western medicine had no great solutions for. As a result, I make a couple visits To see Dr. Ge and brings me back to 100% health.
He always tells me… “You are a young man, there is no reason you should have these problems. I will give you needles and herbs and you will get better.” That statement has always become true for me.

I highly recommend go to this place if you have any form of chronic illness. Chinese herbs are the best solution to treat them. I had hives for more than 3 months, my doctor couldn’t cure this. So I went to see Dr. Gu. After using herbs for one month, my hives condition are much better comparing using pills for the previous months. Plus, herbs have no side effects beside it does not taste good.

We went to Dr. Ge upon friends’ referral. My mom was having chronic and frequent diarrhea for over 6 months, and feeling unusually fatigued and cold in the last few years. Her previous western medicine doctors diagnosed her with a hypothyroid condition with TSH level significantly elevated. Dr. Ge examined my mom with traditional Chinese medicine methods (through pulses, tongue/facial complexion observations, Q&As) and prescribed Chinese herbs. After less than two months taking the Chinese herbs, my mother’s thyroid level (TSH) dropped from 9.xx, which was pretty high, to 5.xx, which is within the normal range now. Furthermore, my mom’s symptoms listed above disappeared weeks after she started with the herbs. We were highly impressed by Dr. Ge’s knowledge in both Chinese and Western medicine, his honesty and his open-mindedness. He was very honest with us in letting us know the possibilities of his treatment. We found ourselves truly lucky to have him in this small town.

After living many years in Chicago, and going to an acupuncturist there who was considered one of the best, I was grateful to find Shihu Ge. He has been trained in both Western and Chinese medicine and was on the faculty of The University of Beijing Integrative Medicine. I appreciate his ability to assess my problem using pulses and tongue observation, and then combining the allopathic medical information that I give him with my treatment. He is understated, as any good medical practitioner is,and will not promise more than is reasonable. His critical thinking is excellent and he has been helpful with several serious illnesses I’ve had over the years. I am grateful to have him as my primary health-care practitioner and respect the integrity he brings to his work and my health.

Mr. Ge has treated me for more than 10 years for various problems ranging from irregularities in my menstrual cycle and depression. My health has been pretty stable under his treatments and I am proud to say I am free from any western medicine. I have been very careful in choosing a qualified Chinese medicine practitioner and Mr. Ge is a very successful one. Not many Chinese medicine practitioners can diagnose problem with testing pulses and observing the tongue as good as Mr. Ge. He had completed his education in China and had many years experience, which put him on top of the Chinese Medicine practitioners. I trust his judgment and will continue to use his service.

Champaign, IL is a unique place.Due to the influences of the University, citizens of Champaign have access to world class individuals, and institutions. Shihu Ge is one of the best examples of this. With his office located in downtown Champaign, it may be tempting to associate the lack of prominence of his physical office with the lack of prominence of the practitioner. Do not be fooled. Having Shihu Ge in town is an amazing gift. He is one of the best medical minds of China, having graduated from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China worked as an assistant professor and practiced in the First Teaching Hospital in Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine–notably the best medical university in China. Fortunately for us, the University drew him to the States. He is licensed in the US, and practiced diagnostics, herbology, and acupuncture. Don’t waste your time going to anybody else in Champaign, go to the guy who is credentialed enough to teach them. Go straight to this wise professor.

I have gone to Mr Gu for acupuncture treatment for over a year. Not only has my condition improved but so has my overall health. I have absolute confidence in his skill as a practitioner of Chinese medicine. He is very knowledgeable. He is also an extraordinarily kind and caring health practitioner. Overall I am very happy with my experience. He was highly recommended by many friends and colleagues and I also recommend him very highly. The Champaign-Urbana community is very lucky to have someone as knowledgeable as Mr Gu practicing here.

I have been using acupuncture for 5 years. I have complicated chronic neck pain, migraine headaches and allergies. The acupuncture provided at the Acupuncture & Chinese Herb Center have helped me tremendously. He is humble, brilliant, and kind. He has the credentials to diagnoses and provides treatments verses just treatments. I have a lot of confidence in his abilities because he has helped me so much. He’s a graduate from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, worked as an assistant professor and practiced in the First Teaching Hospital in Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I know that he is certified here in the United States. He has dedicated his life to the practice of acupuncture and herbology.

I was referred to Shihi Ge before moving to Illinois. He has a fine reputation in other states. After moving here I began seeing him on a regular basis. As an 80 year old I have discomforts and conditions specific to my age group. He has treated me for painful joints, colitis and migraine headaches. He has at all time been sensitive and effective. I have no reservations in referring others to this most kind practitioner.

I have been seeing Mr. Ge for about 10 years for aliments such as irregularities in my menstrual cycle and insomnia. His treatments have been very successful, and as a result I have not needed any western medicine treatment. Mr. Ge is a master of the Chinese pulse diagnoses technique. I enjoy most his accurate diagnoses, which result in herbal or acupuncture treatment, or the combination of the two. I understand it takes a qualified Chinese Medicine practitioner to treat patients successfully, and Mr. Ge is certainly an excellent one.
